Give Hate a Chance

Tonight a read a column from my favorite rabbi, Shmuley Boteach. In it he talked about Al- Zarqawi’s death and the reaction from the religious community. Unlike the usual, let’s love our enemies speech, he stated that we should hate that which is evil.

He writes, “How many times have we heard that the problem with the world today is that there isn’t enough love, when precisely the opposite is true? Evil currently stalks the earth because there isn’t enough hate. Moral people, afraid of being poisoned by hate, are becoming indifferent to evil.”

The entire article is here.

He uses the peaceful deaths of Pol Pot and Idi Amin as examples of allowing evil men to rule and flourish.

Since the death of Hitler, it seems that the Western world has had an apathetic attitude towards evil. We banded together, briefly, against evil after 9/11. We saw evil kill innocents on our own American soil and realized what nature truly is. It wasn’t long after, however, that people began to forget that evil ran free for a couple of hours on that fateful day. The intellectuals blamed the innocents for evil’s deed. The president was criticized for naming three evil empires.

Since 9/11 evil has become stronger as more of the innocent forget. Now we have other nations joining the “Axis of Evil”. Venezuela and Bolivia are joining evil nations in the Middle East, reminding me of the boy in the black trench coat who so badly wants to be popular, that he joins the “bad crowd” in order to get attention. Murder rates have gone back up. More and more people lack the will to fight the war on terror and protest it. People forget why those people in Guantanamo Bay are in there.

The scary thing is that those in those evil societies are watching us with a smile. Soon it will be safe again for another strike. We are letting our guard down.

I think the Rabbi has a great point. We should hate those who wish to oppress us and take away our right to the pursuit of happiness. Giving peace a chance will only give the enemy a chance to kill.

Three examples of “Victimization”

This is a previous post on Antonio Gramsci.

Another Gramsci post.

I noticed in the past few posts I have identified three groups that are regularly targeted by the media and other educational institutions in order to “raise the consciousness” about the victimization of them by the “cultural elites” (in America, the WASPS).

1. Women (boo hoo, I am a 42 year old educated married woman. I had an abortion, it’s the WASP and their evil Conservatism’s fault!) The previous post is my commentary on the column found in the Washington Post in which a woman blames Bush for her having an abortion. Even though she made the choice, in her mind, she is the victim, not her children, her baby, or her family, (probably embarrassed by the column). According to her, the WASPS MADE her have an abortion. Either she is exaggerating facts to make a political point, or she has truly been brainwashed into believing that she is part of the social underclass and thus any trial in life is the fault of the cultural elites.

2. Gays The current move to vote on the marriage amendment, (probably won’t go through) is “victimizing” gays. Except that no one said that homosexuality was illegal. Two people of the same gender cannot possibly marry, since the purpose of marriage is to unite two people of opposite gender legally for the purpose of children. Marriage is not a love union, and never has been. That is why there is a difference between a concubine and a wife. Now I don’t believe we should go back before the days of the love marriage (only about 150 years old), but I do not think we should lie about marriage either. This is simply a push by Marxist activists to brainwash gays to push for something that will destroy a traditional institution. I am sorry, but the last time I checked my Biology book, mammals need the opposite gender in order to procreate. Even in same gender relationship the opposite gender is still needed to bring forth offspring. The marriage amendment would not victimize gays at all. It will only protect the rights of heterosexuals.

3. Illegal Immigrants These poor people broke the law, and now we should not punish them. We should give them more rights than citizens. Heck, even those who sneak in here to be terrorists are victims too. It is the evil white man marine who slaughters innocent children in Iraq who are the true oppressors.

I hope you can see that the culture war against traditional Americans (by the way, I am not WASP)is still going on, attempting sometimes cruelly to destroy the primary culture in order to educate a generation of brainwashed, victimized slaves of a truly oppressive government.

I found it!

I finally found the most shameful column I believe ever written by a woman. I heard about it on the radio and accidently found it tonight. It is “What Happens When There is No Plan B?” This is the link

This is how it begins, “The conservative politics of the Bush administration forced me to have an abortion I didn’t want. Well, not literally, but let me explain.”

Ha, ha, ha!! As a woman who has had an unexpected pregnancy, that is the most silliest thing I have ever heard.

She forgot to use her diaphram. Didn’t have time to get an emergency contraceptive pill within 72 hours, so that is the right wing conservatives’ fault??

She writes further- “But I feel that this administration gave me practically no choice but to have an unwanted abortion because the way it has politicized religion made it well-nigh impossible for me to get emergency contraception that would have prevented the pregnancy in the first place.

And to think that, all these years after Roe v. Wade became the law of the land, this is what our children have to look forward to as they approach their reproductive years.”

Sorry, honey, but it was YOU who forgot to use the diaphram! When I forgot to take the pill, I didn’t blame the government, or religion. I have two young children. At the time I got pregnant, we could barely afford our $1400 a month rent in Queens and food, etc, plus the fact that our insurance was so expensive. I was not a lawyer. I had to stay at home because it is my choice, and also because I couldn’t afford to put two children in day care. Well, my husband and I were scared to death when I found out I was pregnant. I was in New York, and the doctor even suggested that I get an abortion. Instead, my husband and I decided to take responsibility for our actions and put the child first. We moved out of Queens in order to find cheaper rent and moved closer to my family for support. Yes, we SACRIFICED. That is what parents do. I am not a saint or special, I am a parent. I take responsibility for my actions.

Now life is better. We have enough money to support all of us and now are looking to buy our own home. Sometimes taking the road less traveled leads to more beautiful things. That is the tragedy of abortion. Women are less brave. Abortion vicitmizes women further. Boo hoo, I had sex and got pregnant, now look I HAVE to get an abortion. Pregnancy is tough. Having a child is a very difficult decision. If you must have an abortion, don’t blame it on the president, and certainly have some dignity not to publish your stupidity in a national newspaper. (like blaming your problems on President Bush, how stupid!)
