Sunday Clothes
While I admire those who have made it a rule to wear their Sunday clothes all day in rememberence of the Sabbath, I have decided that rule does not work for my family. Two words– FOOD STAINS.

This is an article about the incident. An Armenian editor was murdered after bringing up the Armenian genocide of the early 20th century. The Media however is reporting the incident as a Turkish man killing an Armenian because he insulted Turks.
I was listening to Dennis Prager on the radio who was angry that few media sources mentioned the truth about the incident. This article from the Korean ohmynews.com reports:
“Turkish prosecutors said that Mr Samast has confessed the killing while he was detained in Samsun. Samast said that he killed Mr Dink for “insulting Turks.” He expresses no regrets.
Mr Samast had asked to meet Mr Dink earlier on Friday. He introduced himself as a student of Ankara University. His request was turned down. He then waited on the street outside the newspaper building. When Mr Dink returned to his office after having run some errands in a nearby bank, Mr Samast shot him three times at close range, twice in the back of the head. He then left the scene on foot, shouting “I shot the infidel.”
The three-shot assassination technique is a known signature mark of the Turkish Hezbollah. A ballistic analysis of the empty shells conducted by the Istanbul Criminology Department revealed that the assassination weapon, a 7.65 millimeters, has not been used in a previous murder.”
So I am hearing two different stories. I am hearing that this was nationalistic and that Dink regretted the assasination, while this article from Korea is saying that it was religiously motivated and that Dink does not regret the murder.
Iran Condemns Bush’s Capture or Kill Policy Good!!! If a policy makes Ahmadinejad say that Bush has lost his senses, then we must be doing something right. The Iranian government says they are angry that we are even suggesting that there are Iranians in Iraq. So then why are they worried about Bush’s capture or kill order?
I love Iranians. I love Iranian culture. Farsi is the most romantic language in the world in my opinion. I only wish for their freedom. However, I want these Iranian Fundamentalists gone. I hope the real Iranian people support this plan to kill Ahmadinejad’s men who are fighting in Iraq. They are as guilty as the Chinese helping the North Koreans during the Korean conflict and should not be surprised that Bush has made this order.
She is a Tajik singer from Dushanbe, Tajikistan but now one of the most popular female singers in Afghanistan as well as very popular in other Central Asian nations. She made number 2 on the Azerbaijan music charts last year. She is very traditional sounding and proves that you don’t have to look like a tramp in order to be popular. Here are some clips of her performing in Afghanistan despite threats.
Today.az has an article about the sexy singer, Roya who is causing a lot of controversy in Azerbaijan. They point out that though she is bringing the worst of the West to Central Asia, she is also making consumerism attractive. They also point out that one third of Iran is Azeri. They say she might “seduce” Iranians to desire freedom. In my opinion, however, Royas open sexuality (nothing compared to what we have in the USA) might cause the opposite effect. Azeris seeing others of their people living in a shameful way might fear the West even more. There is so much good in the West. However, the celebrities of the world only get to show off the bad the West has to offer. So instead of Christian good will, we export Paris Hilton sluttiness to the world. America has already been demoralized. I hate to see that trendy sluttiness is now coming to Central Asia. Japan already has it, Korea is getting it. Now Azerbaijan??
If the need to be sexy and trendy is there in Iran, then yes, Roya will seduce them to join her consumerist ways. However, if not, there will be an even greater backlash against the West. I don’t think Iranians are quite ready for the gay loves scenes that Americans must flip through (oh yes I flip through it) in shows like Brothers and Sisters or the sex fest going on in Grey’s Anatomy. To be honest, I am not ready either and I live in the West. Our American Slut Princesses don’t seduce me! I am glad I have the American right to turn them off and ignore them. Thank goodness for the History Channel! I’d rather see a Hitler documentary over two men kissing on ABC!
So, if an Iranian FUndamentalist happens to read this and is scared that this is coming soon to your country, do not fear. Let the market clean out the filth. It does work sometimes. Then there is always the V- chip!! (I hear the satelite in the Middle East is better than what we have in America anyways.)
