Fifth Generation

This is to answer a question. This is what my mother has:

Elizabeth Allred was born on August 17, 1747 in Bush Creek, Orange County, North Carolina. She married William Horner on August 17, 1767 in Randolph County, North Carolina.

These are the notes on Elizabeth’s parents but there may be some mistakes. John J. Allred born 1736 (probably wrong) in Randolph, North Carolina or in Wicomico, Northumberland, Virginia and his will was probated in 1792 in Randolph County, North Carolina. His wife listed is Margaret Chaney but there seems to be some dispute.  Margaret Chaney is listed as the daughter of Francis Chaney and Sarah Orrick.

I found  some notes I found on genforum which says that Elizabeth Allred is the daughter of a John Allred who was born in 1706 or 1708 in Wicomico, Northumberland, Virginia and who married Ann Hamilton. The John Allred of 1736 is listed as Elizabeth Allred’s brother rather than her father which would make Ann Hamilton Elizabeth Allred’s mother. The John Allred of 1736 married a Margaret Chaney.

This is definitely a subject of further research.
