n the name of God Amen this twelfth day of April Ano Domi 1723 in the
ninth year of the reign of Our sovereign Lord George by the Grace of God
King of Great Britain &c I Samuel Damourvel of Cople Parish in Westmorld
County being sick and weak of body but of sound and perfect mind and
memory praised be God for it and calling to mind the uncertainty of this
life on earth and being desirous to settle things in order before I be
called hence, do make this my last Will and testament in manner and form
folloiwng that is to say first and principally I recommend my soul to
Allmighty God my Creator steadfastly believing that by the pretious death
and merits of my blessed saviour and redeemer Jesus Christ I shall
receive full pardon and free remission of all my sins and obtain
everlastin salvacon and my body to the earth from whence it was taken to
be buried in such decent and Christian manne as my exs hereafter named
shall think fit and convenient and as touching such worldly estate as it
hath pleased the Lord in his mercy to lend me my Will and meaning is that
the same shall be imployed and be stowed as hereafter in this my Will is
expressed and first I do revoke renounce frustrate and make void and of
none effect all other Will and Wills by me heretofore made and declare
and appoint this my last Will and testament,
Imps, I give and bequeath unto my well beloved son Samuel Damouvel two
hundred acres of land to choos the same Out of the four hundred and four
acres of land I took up in Stafford County to him and his heires forever
also I give to my said son six negro man called Billey a negro Woman
called Bess an negro Boy called Dick a negro girl called Nanney a
madegasker boy called Jack and a negro boy called Sam to him and his
heires forever also a large black walnutt Oval table and half a dozen
high chaires his choice of all my feather beds and furniture to say Ruggs
blankets quilt and two pair of sheets bolster pillows and pillow cases
and bedstead th bed is in also my to guns Pistols and holster saddle
bridle brestplate and crupper and sword also my young bay horse that came
of Bonny called Fflower all my instruments for chyrurgery with my books
Druggs and medicines and all I have appertaining to Chyrurgery and all my
carpenters Joyners and Coopers tooles two iron pots called five gallon
potts three pewter basons four large pewter dishes one pewter tankard and
a pottle pewter pott my chest called Mr. Henry Rosses chest ten head of
cattle ten head of sheep and all my wearing apparrell linnen and Woolen
to him my said son.
Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Magdaline Rust One hundred
acres of land being part of the aforemenconed four hundred and four acres
of land in Stafford County to her and her heires forever also a negro
woman called Jenny also two feather beds to say one I have lent her and
the other called her bed together with all the furniture, ruggs blanketts
quilt and 2 pr of sheets also a great brass Kettle One pewter bason a
dressing box now in her custody and all appertaining to said box and
another box called her box a black horse called Prince and a bay horse
called Rainbow, three head of cattle and my Batchelors Chest one linnen
wheel and One woolen wheel two pair of wool cards and a small black
walnutt Oval table.
Item, I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Harrison One hundred
and four acres of land it being the residue of the aforemenconed four
hundred and four acres in Stafford County to her and her heires forever
also a negro girl called Ffrank a small square table with a drawer in it
also my large bible also her choice of my feather beds and furniture not
before bequeathed and bedstead and an iron pott called an eight gallon
pott and my trunk chest my horse called Ball three head of cattle one
linen wheel and one woolen wheel and a pr of wool cards and one prizd hhd
of stem’d Tobacco,
Item I give and bequeath unto my loving wife Hannah Damouvel my negro man
Tony and my negro Woman Pegg during her natural life and my Will is that
after her decease the negro man Tony descend t my daughter Magdalen Rust
and the nagro woman Peg descend to my daughter Elizabeth Harrison also I
give to my said Wife my horse called Jumper and my mare called Bonny with
a side saddle and furniture two feather beds to say One a truckle bed and
the other lobs corner bed with furniture thereunto belonging also a
square table four cowes and all the rest of my sheep not before
bequeathed also my will is that all the rest of my personal estate not
yet given or bequeated be devided into four equall parts One to my son
Samuel another to my daughter Magdalinen Rust another to my daughter
Elizabeth Harrison and the other part to my dear and Loving Wife Hannah
Damourvel also my Will is that no Division be made of my personal estate
till my funeral expenses be contented and paid although there is a Law
that estates shall be appraised yet my will is that my estate shall not
be appraised nor come to appraisement but stand as it is.
In Witness whereof I the said Samuel Damourvel to this my last Will and
testament do nominate and appoint my dear Wife together with my son
Samuel Damourvel my sole Executrix and Executor of this my last Will and
testament revoking and disanulling all other Wills by me formerly made As
Witness my hand and seal the day and year first above written.

Signed sealed and decared in the presence of Ralph Elston, James Lamkin
William Bruce, John Thomas. The interlineacon was before the ensealing.
Westmld Ss. At a court held for the said County the 31st day of July
1723. The last will and Testament of Samuel Damourvel decd was presented
into Court by Samuel Damourvel oe of his Executors who made oath thereto
and being proved by the Oaths of three of the Witnesses thereto is admitt
to record- but for that the other Executor in the said will nominated did
not appeare, the probte thereof is respited till the said Executor accept
or refuse the executorship according as the law directs-
