Thursday - Market Day
Since I already went to the commissary last Friday, I did not need to go to the grocery store. I just cooked some instant food and spent most of the day trying to help my husband find a job. He told me his dream is to get into intelligence. He lacks clearance at this time. I think he would be great in a government position in either the state or defense department. He has a bachelor’s in international relations and a Master’s in Public Management. He speaks three languages fluently, (like a native), and has military experience. It just takes a lot of patience to get one of those jobs. Clearances can take up to 18 months to two years to receive. In the meantime we are trying to figure out which direction our lives should take. I love Louisville, but I know we will not settle here.
It was a long day. A day for reflection and a lot of unanswered questions. My husband and I ended the day in an arguement. We finally calmed down. My husband feels a lot of pressure right now because he is unemployed with three small children. I am nervous because my mother-in-law is visiting soon. I am glad that we mastered conflict management in our marriage. I think the first three years of marriage are the most difficult. One you make it through those tough years a sort of calm takes place in your relationship. When I am with my husband, I am home.

It would be great for Aziz to get his “dream job”. Would you have to move to Washington DC for a job like that?

Yes. That would be perfect. Aziz’s mom is in New York and my parents are in Alabama.
