Housework Schedule Works
I have been living the housework schedule of a 19th century housewife and I must say, it works. It is more convenient and organized. On Mondays, I do all of my laundry. Of course, laundry today is much easier than it was in the past. On the other hand, we have more clothes. I also wash all of the sheets and blankets. On Tuesday, I iron if I need to. Right now I don’t have anything to iron. I also fold all of my clothes and reorganize the drawers and neaten the closets. That is also a time to vacuum the closets. Wednesday, I scrub my kitchen real well and mop. Thursday is the day for vacuuming and dusting. Friday, I clean the bedrooms real well. Saturday, I clean my bathrooms. The schedule isn’t perfectly modeled after the 19th century one. Wednesday and Saturday are baking bread days. Sometimes I bake on Wednesday. Also, Saturday is the day I get everything prepared for Sunday so I don’t have to go shopping or do anything huge on Sunday. Everyday I do dishes and clean the counters in my kitchen and pick up all of the toys before going to bed. My apartment is so neat and I feel comfortable and happy. There is also less boredom and more fun. I can have more fun in an organized home.
I must say that I am not perfect. Some days I don’t feel good. Some days the kids don’t feel good. Then my cleaning isn’t as perfect. As long as the kitchen work is done and my kids pick up the toys before they go to bed I am happy.

I agree that cleaning up before bed is very helpful, I love waking up to a clean house but I’ve been sick this week so I haven’t been very good at that lately.

You have an excuse! When you start cleaning again it will be time for the baby to come!! (like mopping bathrooms and stuff!)

The day before Sariah was born I had this cleaning urge and cleaned the whole apartment.
