I ha a Yard Sale today at my friend’s house. It was more fun than I thought it would be. Four hours flew by.

My friend threw a yard sale at her house and invited us who do not have a yard to sell our things. I brought some clothes and some baby things. My old skinny girl clothes were a hit. I guess I had style at some point in my life. I also sold all of my baby things. I made $13.60 total.

I have learned my lesson. On nice clothes, especially those that are name brand, I can raise the price a little bit. Big items are popular like baby furniture. Decorative items did not do well unless they were unusual. My books did terrible. Romance and mystery novels do much better than the classics.

Inviting friends to sell their things makes it more fun. I had a lot of fun hanging out with my friends. We ended up exchanging a lot of our stuff and buying from each other, though we gave each other a discount, or just gave it away for free.

I think I will try to have a yard sale more often, especially when I get my own yard. However, I am not much into GOING to yard sales because unless it is a book, I don’t like to buy used things.
