Our Fortune Cookie Say. . .
Yesterday the van died while I was driving to the grocery store. All of the sudden, the wheel stopped turning. and the brakes and the gas pedal stopped working. I used all of my strength to turn the wheel and roll into a Kroger parking lot. At least I got my grocery shopping done.
Today we went to get the car to bring to a Midas because the dealership was going to charge too much to fix the van. We found out that when Aziz replaced the battery a couple of weeks ago, the guy who did it, did not attach the battery correctly and the wires came lose. We took it to Midas to fix the coolant and the transmission fluid. While we waited we ate a Chinese buffet. We got some interesting fortunes in our fortune cookies.
Aron: “Others take notice of your radiance. Share your happiness.”
Jonny: “Visit a park. Enjoy what nature has to offer.”
Mine: “Any troubles you have will pass very shortly.”
Aziz: “Your hard work will finally pay off.”
Aron fell asleep in the car and took a long nap. Then he fussed the rest of the afternoon because of his teeth. Jon Jon stayed inside and refused to go out, preferring to watch X-Men on TV. I discovered my period is almost over, though I still am having troubles. I had an allergic reaction to crab I ate the night before and am still drowsy from the medication I took in order to breathe last night. Aziz is starting hs new job next week and the day was spent talking about his new adventure coming up.
Victoria came home fussy as usual. We told her to change out of her school uniform because she might get it dirty. She refused until she spilt some grape juice on her khaki pants. I am preparing dinner and washing the sheets today. I actually finished all of my laundry today and I am happy because that is the end of one major weekly trouble.
There is a saying that fortune is for fools. Hard work is how good things come to you. I thought about that after I gave Aron some tylenol to help with his tooth pain, let Jonny enjoy his imaginary Marvel universe, comforted my husband who is anxious because of his future move, and folded the last of my laundry.
