Weekend Meal
I took the weekend off to do research on the Majors family of TN, GA and SC. Genealogy is a lot of work but very rewarding. If you are a history buff, then genealogy is for you. At the same time I am reading a book about life in England during the year 1000 AD. It is not a political history but a social history. I imagined my own ancestors stomping on dirt and singing Pagan charms and eating dry bread dipped in a porridge.
Friday night I made tacos. My children love tacos because they love to make them themselves. I took leftover rice, refried beans, taco meats and cheese and mixed them together to make a dip for tortilla chips the next day. I topped it with sour cream and salsa. It was delicious. I think guacamole would be delicious in it too!
Saturday we spent five hours in the mall. The kids had a lot of fun. We came home and ate leftovers.
Sunday I put a whole chicken in the crockpot and covered it with barbecue sauce. I set the crockpot on low and then went to church. The chicken cooked for 8 hours. It was delicious! We ate potatoes and vegetables with it.
I got my visiting teaching done and had a nice time. I worked on some genealogy then called my mother. I found out tha tGordon Hinckley died. I was sad to hear that, but I know that he is happy because he is with his wife whom he so dearly missed.
