Shocked?

Are you looking for my post on last night’s debate? I almost forgot about that. I guess because the debate was mostly forgettable.

That was the most boring debate I have ever seen! I felt like I was watching one long political advertisement. Neither of the candidates said anything new with the exception of John McCain who said he was basically nationalizing the home mortgage industry. (who is the Republican?)

I get Obama’s basic argument. He is against “trickle down economics” first made popular by Reagan. Reagan did not start “trickle down economics” but was the first president to support the theory of lowering taxes to help the economy. John F. Kennedy was also for lowering taxes in a time when Republicans believed in raising taxes, but the theory was written in the late seventies. (I can’t remember the guy’s name, remember I am no longer a political blogger :-) Obama wants to go back to old way of raising taxes on businesses and the wealthy much like it was before the term of John F. Kennedy saying that the beliefs of Reagan have been proven wrong. I guess Obama would be like a Wilson, but he could easily be a Herbert Hoover or a Jimmy Carter.

Instead of talking about their differences they just repeated talking points and the result was extremely boring. I learned nothing new from the candidates. This election is a complete disappointment.

I thought it was funny how, the next day, the winner of the debate varied by what tv station you watched.
