  • DIY Sewing

I found a great website and video on how to hem pants and make them shorter. I actually looks easy. I will wait until my mother comes and have her help me the first time though. The website is here with a great instructional video.
I think I can do it, though I am not […]

  • Milk and Eggs Savings

This is something that I have done the past few months that works. I keep stocked UHT milk, the type of milk you can shelve along with powdered and evaporated milk. I stock up on that during times that I have little extra money so when money gets tight I use the UHT milk. That […]

  • Curse Wegman’s

I waited until Wednesday to go grocery shopping because I was having post IUD removal bleeding and hormonal changes. Tuesday I threw up because I had a terrible hormonal headache and took Tylenol to relieve it. Of course then I threw up the Tylenol soon after. I had physical therapy Tuesday morning. Because of my […]

  • Eat on $100 a week?

MSNBC.com had an article about a woman who tried to live on $100 of groceries in one week. I honestly thought that she did not do a great job and wondered what she eats for $250 a week, only having two children. I spend a lot of food too and sometimes spend up to $200 […]

  • Nasty Leftovers

I hate to throw food away and since I am on a budget, it is important for me to use up leftovers. Saving some leftovers is still a mystery. Does anyone like leftover McDonald’s hamburgers for example? With some research most leftovers can be saved and be made into a delicious second meal.
    Here are […]

  • EASY Shortbread Cookies

These are my favorite cookies. They taste a lot like school cafeteria cookies! They were so easy that Victoria made them.
1 1/4 cup all purpose flour
    1/4 cup sugar
    1/2 cup of butter
Mix the flour, sugar, and butter. Rub the mixture between your thumb and fingertips until it looks like breadcrumbs. When the mixture looks crumbly, squeeze […]

    1/4 cup cocoa
    1 Tbsp caraway seeds
    2 packages of yeast
    2 tsp salt

  • 2 1/2 Pounds of Chicken Breast

Because my husband is in the Army Reserves we get a great deal on meat and poultry. We bought 2 1/2 pounds of chicken breast for under $5. I chose chicken breast because there is a lot more meat than in the cheaper parts of chicken like thighs and legs.
I baked the chicken breasts […]

  • Way to Save Money in the Grocery Store

Not recommended for those with weak bladders or are pregnant.
Go to the grocery store when you have to use the bathroom, and refuse to use their bathroom. You will shop faster and will only buy what is on your list. You don’t have time for impulse buys!! It worked for me!
